Minting is the process of turning a digital artwork into a Non-Fungible Token. It involves publishing and recording information related to the creation of the NFT onto the blockchain. The blockchain is a secure, transparent and decentralized network, which means that the record is safe and is easily accessible. Once recorded on the blockchain, an NFT lives in perpetuity and can be sold, resold or traded on platforms such as Artnet.
Can Artnet mint my NFT?
Yes, Artnet is minting NFTs by using the industry standard ERC721 smart contract. We are currently only offering this service by invitation only to a select group of artists. However, Artnet is determined to grow this functionality to include a larger audience in the future.
